Back in 2006, we did a show by the name of Brother Wolf by our artistic director Preston Lane (@aprestonlane) with original music by Laurelyn Dossett. This was their first collaboration—an Appalachian retelling of the classic story of Beowulf. That show contained “Anna Lee’s Song” written by Laurelyn Dossett. The song has since been featured on two Grammy‐winning albums by Levon Helm: Dirt Farmer (2007) and Ramble at the Ryman (2011).
Helm passed away last year and Ain’t in it for My Heath is being released in theaters this week. This trailer features “Anna Lee’s Song”. Enjoy.
